Welcome To Hanworth Park House

Hanworth Park House, near Feltham in West Middlesex is one of the country’s hidden treasures. Once home to many of the early 20th Century’s greatest icons, it now lies derelict, and in need of restoration.

Friends of Hanworth Park House

The Friends of Hanworth Park House (FoHPH) were established in the summer of 2017 through a group of local residents, who came together to campaign for the house, which had been closed off for many years from public view, to be saved.

Hanworth Park House had become increasingly derelict since the old people’s home which was closed in 1992. Since that time there have been a number of developers who brought forward schemes to convert the building into a private hotel, but all failed.  The current owner, Gary Cottle, has listened to the local community, as well as those who now live further afield, who have many memories and stories of Hanworth Park House to share from over the years, and is working with the campaign to save the building.

To date FoHPH have held 12 ‘Open Days’ at Hanworth Park House with over 5,000 people visiting, as well as liaising with many other local community  groups, such as Feltham Arts, Tale be Told Theatre, Feltham Sea Scouts, Feltham Army cadets, and many more. The Friends of Hanworth Park House have also helped to support a new Parkrun in the park.

Open Day.

At our 2nd ‘Open Day’ in December 2017, over 400 people turned out to take part, ask questions and look around the house and grounds. We were grateful to Seema Malhotra (MP for Feltham and Heston) for attending.

HPH Car Show Welcomes 2,500 People.

The Friends of Hanworth Park House formed to raise awareness about the house and trying to save it. In September 2019, 2,500 people attended a classic car show and summer fair organised to raise money and support the campaign to restore the historic house and turn much of it into a museum to celebrate the area’s history.

Key Stakeholders.

The Friends of Hanworth Park House are committed to working closely with the Council, the developer, and other key stakeholders such as Historic England to bring this about, and ensure the maximum social and environmental benefits from any scheme—which will also include the provision of much needed housing.

Over the past year or more, the Friends of Hanworth Park House (FoHPH) have been developing a detailed proposal that aims to not only create a vibrant community hub, but also to act as a catalyst for the regeneration of this part of Hounslow Borough and beyond. The restoration of Hanworth Park House has the potential to rejuvenate the landscape of Hanworth Air Park, and help connect the wider communities of Hanworth and Feltham.

We would like to thank the thousands of supporters since 2017, who include community groups, businesses, charities, schools, central government, local councils, TV, radio and many more.

Hanworth Park House is a special building, with unique memories and stories of a bygone age. The commitment shown by so many people to work for its restoration is part of a new chapter in its history—one we hope will be as special and important for our generation as it was in the past for those before.
